31/12/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Daneking and Followmeupcarlow

1.45 Punchestown: Daneking should get his own way upfront in this hurdle race for a back-to-lay on the front-runner.  He has to concede weight to the classy Bog Warrior and although he would have little chance against him this will be Bag Warrior's first run of the season against a race-fit Daneking who should travel well enough upfront for long enough for a double-up; he currently trades around 5.8.

2.45 Punchestown: Followmeupcarlow travels well in his races and usually makes eye-catching late headway to trade low in-running. He’s been predominately running in chases of late but his occasional forays in to handicap hurdles has seen him trade low in-running; he currently trades around 8.6.

3.15 Punchestown: Indian Rupee has a great in-running record; trading below half his BSP in all nine runs to date but from big prices.  Today he is likely to go off favourite but at a short price he is a risky proposition for a back-to-lay on a horse that has yet to win with his best finish being a third last time out.  You could look to lay him in-running at 20% of BSP.

Sunday 28 December 2014

28/12/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Benrouge and Grey Mirage

1.05 Limerick: Benrouge has traded at low odds from big starting prices early in his races.  He has fallen in his two races this season but prior to that had never hit the floor; if you can get 16.0+ then he could be worth a back-to-lay.

1.15 Lingfield: Grey Mirage has a great record in-running at Lingfield and has dropped down to the same mark of his last win here at the track.  He looked a likely winner last time out at Southwell and if in the same form again will go close again at around 4.50.

3.00 Catterick: Cody Wyoming has a great strike rate in-running and has been winning since making the running recently.  Although he didn’t trade low last time; todays better ground and shorter distance could be in his favour for a back-to-lay around 4.20.

Saturday 29 November 2014

29/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Avispa, Bobcatbilly and Cole Harden

12.20 Newbury:  Avispa should be better for her recent debut over hurdles after some great performances that have seen her trade below half of her BSP in her six runs to date including two wins.  She is trading around 7.4 for a back-to-lay.

1.20 Newbury: Bobcatbilly looks to have a great chance of carrying on his good in-running performances in this 2 mile 6 furlong chase.  He has traded belwo half his BSP in his last thirteen runs and todays conditions look ideal for him to go close again; he's currently trading around 13.0.

2.25 Newbury: Cole Harden has race fitness over his main rival More Of That that could see him force the pace and put his opponent under pressure first time out.  Though it's hard to see him winning against the current World Hurdle champion he should trade low enough in-running from the front from his current trading price of 6.0 for a back-to-lay.

Sunday 23 November 2014

23/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Kauto Grand Mogol

12.55 Navan: Kauto Grand Mogol has traded below half his BSP in all his five runs to date and looks to extend it further while taking a huge step up in class from a Limerick maiden hurdle to a grade 2 novice hurdle.  He is progressive and after giving a lot of weight to his opponents and an 8 length beating in his previous race he looks likely to give a good account of himself racing up with the pace; he currently trades around 6.6 for a back-to-lay.

Wednesday 19 November 2014

19/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay High Aspirations and Voyage A New York

3.10 Warwick: High Aspirations usually travels well in his races before fading but was unlucky last time out when falling when looking likely to win on his chase debut.  He should go close again today in this field of six; he currently trades around 5.3 for a back-to-lay.

3.20 Hexham: Voyage A New York has traded below half his BSP in all runs to date except for his seasonal debuts and has a great chance today to continue his great in-running record.  He has good form on heavy ground and should sit right behind the leaders until challenging for the lead late in the race; he currently trades around 4.6 for a back-to-lay.

Monday 17 November 2014

17/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Two Moons

5.10 Wolverhampton: Two Moons has traded below half his BSP in all seven runs to date and today he has a very good chance of doing so again in similar conditions.  He tackles Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface for the first time but he looks versatile running well on both turf and the fibre sand in the past; he currently trades around 8.0 for a back-to-lay.

Saturday 15 November 2014

15/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay The Package and Joyous

1.35 Punchestown: Snooze drops back to 2 mile 6 after racing over further and running creditably but his best performances have come over todays distance.  If he’s fit enough on his seasonal debut then he should go close; he currently trades around 20.0.

1.50 Cheltenham: The Package travels well in to the business end of his races and with his great first time-out record he can be expected to be ready for this. He currently trades around 9.4 for a back-to-lay.

2.35 Lingfield: Battalion should lead this listed event at Linfield for a long way with Fire Fighting making late headway to challenge.  Battalion is trading around 7.0 with Fire Fighting at 6.6; lay both in-running at 40% of the back price to guarantee a profit if just one of them is matched in-running.

5.45 Wolverhampton: Joyous continues to flatter on the all-weather travelling well in to the latter stages but just not going through with what looks like a winning move.  She should run her usual good race again today; she currently trades around 14.0.

Friday 14 November 2014

14/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Minella Present

3.00 Cheltenham: Minella Present looks one of the best back-to-lays at Cheltenham where the racing looks very competitive.  He’s won his last two races well and takes a big step up in class and could well make the running in this field of seven. He currently trades around 6.6 on betfair.

Uncle Junior runs in the following cross country race at 3.35 that has only attracted a total of eight runners and although he has been out of form he always runs well in this race having won it twice and he finished second to Balthazar King last year when looking a likely winner before hitting the last. He’s trading around 10.0 which could prove to be a big price if he returns to his early season form again for this race.

Tuesday 11 November 2014

11/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Alderbrook Lad and Crookstown

2.20 Sedgefield: Alderbrook Lad should get an easy lead in this race and with the distance, soft ground fine for him and race fitness on his side he could open up a commanding lead to trade out in-running; he currently trades around 6.0 for a back-to-lay.

2.40 Huntingdon: Crookstown looks to have a great chance of continuing his great in-running record in this novice chase.  He steps up to two and a half miles from two but it won’t be a problem as he was competitive over three miles over hurdles; he currently trades around 7.4 for a back-to-lay.

Monday 10 November 2014

10/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Whats Up Woody

3.00 Carlisle: Vintage Star won this race last year first time up and he will be trying to do the same again this year.  Last year he enjoyed receiving weight in this race but this year he has to carry joint top weight along with Rival D’Estruval who could be worth playing as he as such a good record in-running and won first time out last year here at Carlisle.  Rival D’Estruval is trading around 9.4 and Vintage Star at 5.4; lay back both at 40% of the back odds.

3.30 Carlisle: If you can get 4.0 or better on Whats Up Woody then he is worth doing a back-to-lay in this race.  He’s a front runner that traded down to 1.59 in-running from a BSP of 8.6 here at Carlisle last time and should go close again from the front.

Saturday 8 November 2014

08/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Lady Tiana and Magie Pink

2.05 Wincanton: Woodland Walk and Lily Waugh both have both traded low in-running regularly and both are were both playing at 40% of the back odds; Woodland Walk trades around 16.0 while Lily Waugh is trading around 13.0.

2.30 Sandown: Roudoudou Ville won his in 2011 and should go close again today in similar conditions. He missed the 2012 season and most of the next year and slowly returned to form in his last couple of races and seems well supported today so a good run looks to be expected; he currently trades around 9.6.

3.00 Doncaster: Lady Tiana has excelled in soft ground handicaps with two easy wins and now steps up to listed class after beating Ty Gwr 3 lengths who then went on to win next time out on similar ground. Lady Tiana should travel well in this race and represents a good back-to-lay at 6.6.

4.05 Doncaster: Maggie Pink has some decent form on soft ground and returned back to turf with a win last time out after a long stint on the all-weather since finishing second in this race last year.  She will race up with the pace and could even lead in this race; she currently trades around 18.0 which is a great price for a back-to-lay on him.

Thursday 6 November 2014

06/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Gurkha Brave

3.00 Musselburgh: 2 mile 4 furlongs is probably a little bit further than what Gurkha Brave wants but he will travel well for a long way to trade out.  He currently trades around 10.0 for a back-to-lay.  Also of interest at the right price in the same race is Bogside who hasn’t run for since December last year but has run well after a break previously.  If you can back him at 20.0+ then he is worth a back-to-lay.

Wednesday 5 November 2014

05/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Owen Na View and Moohaarib

1.30 Warwick: Owen Na View has traded exceptionally low in his three chases to date to 1.44, 1.11 and 2.14.  Today’s race looks another good opportunity for him to trade low for a back-to-lay and possibly with split stakes at shorter odds as he’s yet to register a win under rules; he currently trades around 7.0.

1.50 Nottingham: Moohaarib will just be big enough for a back-to-lay around 4.2.  He travels well in his races and makes easy headway to see his price drop late on.

2.20 Nottingham: Come On Dave races prominently and usually challenges late on to see him trade low in-running quite often.  His last run at Nottingham saw him trade down to 3.10 from a BSP of 18.0; he currently trades around 12.0 which is a great price for a back-to-lay.

Tuesday 4 November 2014

04/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Pepite Rose and Phare Isle

2.15 Exeter: Pepite Rose looks a great back-to-lay in this limited handicap. She is up against some really good horses but she meets them on better terms than she would in graded races that she competes in regularly, including a second to Sire De Grugy last season at Sandown.  She travels very well in to her races and she usually ends up leading late on and with many of these horses targeting bigger races she could well push them close at 16.0 for a back-to-lay at half the price.

3.15 Exeter: Bobcatbilly has traded below half his BSP in-running in his last 12 runs and with the booking of McCoy he should get a positive ride that should see him up with the pace.  McCoy has ridden him twice before winning on him both times; he currently trades around 16.0. Also running is Rydalis who looked a likely winner of this race last year who has a habit of idling when hitting the front and losing races when looking the winner.  Venetia Williams horses are running well and she should give a good account of herself first time up; she trades around 14.0 for a back-to-lay.

3.45 Exeter: Phare Isle likes to race behind the pace and usually travels well for long enough to trade low in-running for a back-to-lay.  He will be better for his seasonal reappearance and at around 18.0 is a great back-to-lay bet.

Monday 3 November 2014

03/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Royal Regatta

2.05 Kempton: Tinker Time and Hatters River both look good back-to-lay bets in this race as they both have great in-running trading histories.  You should be able to back both at greater than 6.0 pre-race and lay back at 3.0 in-running to make a little profit even if just one is matched in-running.

2.35 Kempton: Philip Hobbs horses are in great form and Royal Regatta looks a good back-to-lay opportunity in this class 2 handicap.  He has been contesting big handicaps at Cheltenham and despite not finishing very well he has traded below half his BSP in all those runs; he currently trades around 8.0.

Sunday 2 November 2014

02/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Solita and Up To Something

3.00 Nass: Solita is in great form and seeking her third win on the bounce.  She’s up 7lb for her first handicap win last time out but gets 7lb claimer Luke Dempsey to negate the rise.  She should travel well in to the race to see her price contract from her current price of 7.4 for a back-to-lay.

3.45 Carlisle: Up To Something looks a decent back-to-lay in this 2 mile 4 furlong listed race where he gets 10lb from the likes of Eduard and Holywell who will find this a little on the sharp side as he is more of a stayer.  Up To Something looks like he could well lead in this race and at around 13.0 you should be able to lay back at half those odds if he can take them along and get some of those behind in trouble.

Saturday 1 November 2014

01/11/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Air Pilot and Cole Harden

2.35 Newmarket: Air Pilot won’t mind the cut in the ground should race just behind the pace to challenge late on.  He’s trading around 4.6 for a back-to-lay.

2.40 Wetherby: Cole Harden takes on At Fishers Cross who ran flat first time up last season andis worth taking on as he  is prone to making mistakes.  Cole Harden should lead in this small field for long enough to see his price contract enough for a trade out especially if the favourite makes one of his customary mistakes and flattens a hurdle; he currently trades at 4.6 for a back-to-lay.

Friday 31 October 2014

31/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Little King Robin and Cedre Bleu

2.05 Down Royal:  Little King Robin has been winning lower grade races with great front-running performances and although this is a much tougher proposition she is well off at the weights for a graded race.  She should be left alone upfront and could well open up a lead on this field to trade low; she currently trades around 7.0 for a back-to-lay.

2.15 Wetherby: Cedre Bleu is having his first run of the season in this race but so are most of the main contenders for this race but he does perform well first time out.  He has traded below half his BSP in 5 of his last 6 runs with the exception being a tough grade 3 event at Cheltenham so this looks a  good opportunity for him to go close again; he currently trades around 6.6 for a back-to-lay.

Thursday 30 October 2014

30/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Kandinski

3.25 Clomel: Kandinski only win to date has come here at Clonmel and won’t mind the going today.  He is making his seasonal reappearance which is a slight negative but he ran well last year first time out when trading down to 1.24 in-running.  This four runner race could turn out to be a steady run affair with no obvious front runner but he does like to prominently so should be right there if not making it; he currently trades around 4.4 for a back-to-lay at half those odds.

Wednesday 29 October 2014

29/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Stellarta and Springinherstep

2.00 Nottingham: Stellarta has been performing well in-running and despite minor flops two and three runs back he traded low last time.  There were excuses for those runs she was returning from lay off and they were class 4 handicaps; she currently trades around 18.0 which should avail a chance to lay back in-running at half those odds as she should travel well in to the latter stages.

3.10 Taunton: Springinherstep will handle the firm going at Taunton better than some of her market rivals and help with her suspect stamina over this longer trip. Although a short price around 4.2 she should travel well in to the race to trade out at half those odds in-running.

Tuesday 28 October 2014

28/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Clearing and Coillte Cailin

5.40 Wolverhampton: Clearing has been in great form of late when only just being caught late on last time out after leading and the regaining the lead.  She’s going up the weights but if getting to the lead she should take them along for long enough to trade out in-running; she is currently trading around 12.0.

6.10 Wolverhampton: Coillte Cailin has traded below half her BSP in-running on all her all-weather starts here at Wolverhampton and today’s race looks another opportunity for her to run her race; back at 4.4 to lay off at half those odds in-running.

Monday 27 October 2014

27/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Miss Tree and Jammy Moment

A usual poor quality Monday of racing with very little appeal for back-to-lay purposes.

3.10 Redcar: Miss Tree and Jammy Moment both look good back-to-lay bets in this 1 mile 6 furlong handicap.  Both have great in-running trading histories and you could look to lay off at 40% of the back price to guarantee a profit if one of them is matched in running.  Miss Tree is currently trading around 6.0 with Jammy Moment available at 12.0.

Sunday 26 October 2014

26/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Imperial Circus and Marchese Marconi

2.15 Leopardstown: Afternoon Sunlight is a front runner that seems to perform really well on soft that should allow a trade out in-running; he currently trades around 4.2.  Also running in the race is Harasiya who has raced at the highest level and takes a step down in distance but this will be her easiest task for a long while and should travel well for a back-to-lay from her current price of 8.6.

2.55 Wincanton: Imperial Circus will like the good to firm ground at Wincanton and should travel well in to the latter stages for a back-to-lay; he currently trades around 8.0.

4.15 Galway: Marchese Marconi looks to be up against a good horse in Windsor Park but he travels so well in his races and usually ends up leading late on without actually winning that he’s been a great horse to lay in-running.   Look to back at 4.4+ or if he is too short you try an in-running lay at evens.

Saturday 25 October 2014

25/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Eastlake and Sargeant Mattie

2.40 Doncaster: Emerahldz handles soft ground with a win over 10 furlongs on heavy ground.  He will probably lead in this race and take them along for long enough to trade out at half the back price; he currently trades around 9.2.

4.10 Chepstow: Hidden Identity has an history of consistently trading low in-running apart from her last two runs at Cheltenham but does have winning form here at Chepstow so she could get back to trading low again back from a break at big price; she currently trades around 30.0.

4.25 Doncaster: Intiwin likes to race right behind the pace and has form on soft ground.  He has traded below half his BSP in 5 of his 6 runs to date with the only time failing to do so being on quick ground at York so today’s conditions will give him a great chance to trade low in-running again.

4.40 Doncaster: Lilac Lace should go close in this handicap, she handles soft ground and could well make all on her favoured going.  She is currently trading around 7.4 for a back-to-lay.

4.45 Chepstow: Eastlake has traded below half his BSP in 25 out of 26 runs and looks a great bet to do so again.  He usually travels really well in his races and makes headway to challenge late on; he currently trades around 18.0.

4.50 Aintree: Sargeant Mattie has traded below half his BSP in all his 6 national hunt races to date and has a fitness edge over the other main players in this race.  He’s currently trading around 7.4 so you can lay back at half those odds in-running.

Friday 24 October 2014

24/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Red Pike and Vegas Rebel

3.20 Newbury: Vegas Rebel looked good last time when trying soft ground for the first time with a 3 ½ length win.  He’ll probably start around 4.0 so you could try to lay back at 2.0 in-running as the conditions should really suit and see him travel well in to the race late on.

3.30 Doncaster: Red Pike has traded below half his BSP in his last 8 runs and with his front-running style it will keep him out of trouble in this big field handicap. If he can make the lead or contest it then you should be able to trade out from his current trading price of 14.0.

Thursday 23 October 2014

23/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Whats Up Woody and Shantalla

4.00 Carlisle: Whats Up Woody steps up to a distance that stretches his stamina but he should travel well for long enough for his price to contract enough to trade out.  He has race fitness over half of this field and likes to race prominently and sometimes lead; he’s currently trading around 14.0 which is a great price to try a back-to-lay on this likely front-runner.

4.55 Thurles: Shantalla should find this 2 mile 2 furlong trip more to his liking and strip fitter for his seasonal reappearance four days ago. He gets 5lb claimer Shane Shortall who rode him last time out when trading down from a BSP of 20.0 to 5.20 in-running; look to back around 7.0+ to lay off at half in-running.

Wednesday 22 October 2014

22/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Woodlands Walk and Go Odee Go

4.35 Worcester: Woodlands Walk won first time out last year over 2 mile 4 furlongs on soft ground so today’s race will be fine for him.  He is lightly raced and since moving to handicaps from novice company he has finished second twice and should go close again today. Look to back at 5.0 to lay off at half in-running.

5.35 Worcester: Go Odee Go will have race fitness over the key players in this race where many of the field are making their hurdles debut coming from the point-to-point scene and national hunt flat races. No No Romeo looks the class horse in the field but he could have bigger targets in mind for the future; look to back at 5.8 to lay off at 2.9 in-running.

Tuesday 21 October 2014

21/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Somedaysrdiamonds and Bajan Blu

2.50 Wolverhampton: Somedaysrdiamonds has been leading and running well in 5 furlong sprints but today she steps up to 6 furlongs.  The only time she hasn’t traded below half her BSP was on her debut and today looks another good opportunity for her to trade low in-running as she should set the pace early.  Look to back her around 18.0+ to lay off at half in-running.

4.10 Exeter: Bajan Blu seems to be in great form of late finishing second in his last two runs and trading down to 1.31 and 1.40 in those races.  Those last races were run on good to firm while todays going will be on the soft side of good but he does have a history of trading low in running on much worse ground, so today’s will not be a problem for him.  He’s currently trading around 7.2 which is a good price for a back-to-lay on this horse that will probably lead.

9.00 Kempton: Punk has traded below half his BSP in his last 5 runs and tackles the same grade race he ran in last time where he met trouble in running but still traded down to 16.0 from a BSP of 40.31.  He’s 2lb lower today and could get competitive late on if he can avoid trouble in-running by racing more prominently as he had done previously.

Monday 20 October 2014

20/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Come On Dave and Ty Gwr

3.10 Pontefract: Come On Dave has wins on soft over 5 furlongs and although he is on an high mark that will probably stop him from winning it won’t stop him from being right up with the pace and possibly leading till the final furlong. He currently trades around 28.0 which will soon disappear if making the lead.

5.40 Pontefract: Ty Gwr should go very close to winning this handicap; he goes well on soft and should come with a late run to challenge for lead.  He’s on the short side but if you can get 4.0+ then you could try a back-to-lay as he should be involved in the finish.

Sunday 19 October 2014

19/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Own Na View and Fosters Cross

2.45 Kempton: Owen Na View reverts back to chasing where he has traded very low in-running in his two chase starts to date; he currently trades around 5.4 which is just big enough for a back-to-lay.

3.25 Cork: Fosters Cross looks a decent back-to-lay in this 2 mile handicap chase.  He should travel well and if avoiding trouble in-running in a race that looks to have a few dodgy jumpers you should be able to trade out in-running from his current price of 12.0.

3.35 Bath: Boite should take a prominent position in this staying handicap and while he hasn’t won for a long time he has being contesting hotter races than this including finishing 3 lengths third to Leading Light in a group 3.  He currently trades around 14.0 on Betfair.

3.50 Kempton: Prince Des Marais made all last time out to win when stepped up to 2 mile 7 furlongs and today he tackles 3 mile which will be fine for him. He’s up 5lb for his last win but he should go close again; he currently trade around 7.0 on betfair for a back-to-lay.

Saturday 18 October 2014

18/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Noble Mission and Traditionelle

A busy Saturday see’s lots of really competitive racing and not see many clear cut in-running opportunities with many races containing multiple candidates that have great in-running histories. Checkout all of today’s in-running ratings for yourself.

4.05 Ascot: Noble Mission is sure to lead in the Champion Stakes on his favoured going.  He’s been incredibly consistent this year and his best performances have come when leading and still digging in late on so should avail a trade out in-running from his current price of 8.4.

6.15 Wolverhampton: Traditionelle recorded a win here at Wolverhampton 2 runs back when travelling just behind the pace to take it up a furlong out.  Her prominent run style keeps her out of trouble and should travel well in to the latter stages to allow a trade out; she currently trades at 12.0 on Betfair.

Friday 17 October 2014

17/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Englishman and Shamrock Sheila

3.40 Haydock: Englishman gets is favoured soft ground today and with Cam Hardie on board taking 3lb pound off he looks a good back-to-lay bet.  He currently trades around 15.0 on Betfair which you can lay back at half the price in-running.

4.50 Haydock: Stock Hill Fair has winning form on soft ground and takes a big step up in distance on his recent runs but he does have winning form at 1 mile 6 furlongs.  He’s currently trading around 34.0 on Betfair and if taking a prominent position you should be able to trade out in-running.

7.20 Wolverhampton: Shamrock Sheila drops down from listed company on turf to this class 4 nursery handicap on the all-weather.  She does have a win on the all-weather and travels well in her races and with her prominent racing style she should offer a trade out in-running before fading late on; she currently trades around 40.0 on Betfair.

Thursday 16 October 2014

16/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Ruby Glow and Al Alfa

2.20 Wincanton: Ruby Glow has a great record of trading low in-running and has traded below 10% of his BSP four times from nine career starts without winning.  He will be a big price today for this race; he currently trades around 36 which looks a great price to lay off at half those odds in-running.

3.50 Wincanton: Al Alfa likes to race right up with pace and sometimes lead and more often than not will find himself in the lead late on in his races so makes for a great back-to-lay.  He currently trades around 6.8 which is a great price to lay off in-running at 3.4 for a double up.

Wednesday 15 October 2014

15/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Oyster Shell and Fair Loch

2.50 Wetherby:  Oyster Shell lacks for a run this season but has run well fresh in the past on his first run of the season.  He travels well in his races and even if fitness tells in the end he could quite easily continue his good run of trading low in-running; he currently trades around 4.4 which is just big enough for a back-to-lay.

3.25 Wetherby: Fair Loch looks a great back-to-lay bet to continue his great in-running record that has seen him being beaten at 1.01, 1.30, 2.14, 2.14, 1.66 and 3.30 in his last six runs.  He currently trades around 9.4 so you could either try a straight back-to-lay or split your stakes and chance half at 20% or even 10% of the back price for a bigger return.

14/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Kilbree Kid and Uncle Bernie

3.40 Leicester: Kosika is a tough Mark Johnston front-runner that looks likely to lead in this 7 furlong contest.  Though it’s unknown how he will handle this heavy ground he should run well long enough to trade out of a back-to-lay bet around 20.0 currently on Betfair.

4.50 Huntingdon: Kilbree Kid likes to race up with the pace and will have a race fitness edge over the favourite Druids Nephew.  He has point-to-point wins with cut in the ground and also ran to a head second on soft ground back in May.  He currently trades around 6.6 which is a fair price for a back to lay in this four runner race.

6.00 Wolverhampton: Uncle Bernie is in great form at present seeking his third win in a row after an easy 7 length win last time out here at Wolverhampton.  Although bumped up considerably in the weights he could still be in with a winning chance and looks a good back-to-lay to at least be involved late on.  He currently trades around 6.6 on Betfair.

13/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Cloggy Powell

Betfair has been down for over an hour and but luckily on a day with not much racing with Salisbury rained off.  It would be a catastrophe for anyone with back-to-lays if it isn’t back up and running in time.

5.20 Sedgefield Cloggy Powell looks to have a lot against him being 5lb out of the handicap and being beaten out of sight last time but if the extra distance suits it could see him go well enough to trade low.  If you can get big odds at 70.0+ it could be worth trying a risky lay back at 20% of the back price for a 5/1 winner.

Jumps Action at Auteuil with Kemaliste and Trezor at the Pardubice

The Cross Country Pardubice in the Czech Republic takes place today at 3.35 with Orphee Des Blins an odds-on favourite to win the race for the third time.  The race has been dominated by Tiumen and Orphee Des Blins winning the last five editions of the race but I’ll take a chance with Trezor who was joint favourite last year for the race but is available at 14.0 on Betfair and 10/1 with Racebets for this year’s event.  He’s in great form this year and if the favourite under-performs then he could take this at a decent price as he’ll probably go off around 6-8 on the Czech PMU.

Over at Auteuil in the 3.10 Reve De Sivola takes on some of France’s leading hurdlers but he’s sure to find the distance too short at 2 mile 3 furlongs though he has been backed around 5.0 on betfair he is currently 15.0 on the PMU.  Grand Luce will be favourite for the race and the most obvious winner but Kemaliste could run well only carrying 9-13 and was a comfy winner last time out here at Auteuil over 2 mile 2 furlongs conceding weight all round to his rivals.

The race is a big step up for Kemaliste but he has the weights in his favour and is coming in to this race off a nice win; he is is currently 5.1 on the PMU but available at 10/1 with Racebets.

12/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Marchese Marconi and Tioga Pass

3.40 Goodwood: Ladweb looks a good back-to-lay in this sprint; he has winning form on soft ground which will inconvenience many of the others in the race.  If taking up a prominent position he should trade low enough for a back-to-lay; he currently trades around 20.0 on betfair .

4.05 Limerick: Dane Sir Henery will be a big price in the handicap hurdle at 40.0+ but that hasn’t stopped him trading low in-running before. He usually travels well enough in to the latter stages of his races to see his price tumble for a back-to-lay.

4.20 Curragh: Marchese Marconi finished second in this race last year and could well go close again off a similar mark.  He travels well in his races and usually makes late headway that has seen him trade low in-running; look to back at 16.0+ and lay back at half those odds in-running.

5.15 Goodwood: Tioga Pass has winning form on soft ground over course and distance and looks to have a good chance of going close in this 1 mile 4 furlong race.  At 9.8 he is a great price for a back-to-lay.

Saturday 11 October 2014

11/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Spinatrix and Watchable

2.45 Hexham: Bobs Lady Tamure was in great form last season without actually winning.  He has traded below half his BSP in his last 6 runs and should add to that again; he travels well in his races and usually challenges for the lead late on which has seen him trade low in-running.  Look to back at 8.6 and lay off at half those odds in-running.

3.30 York Spinatrix and Watchable could be both worth playing in this big sprint at 40% of the BSP.  They both race prominently and if just one of them is matched in running them we’ll be in profit.  Spinatrix trades currently around 22 with Watchable trading around 8.4.

4.55 Chepstow: Boondooma looks a worthy favourite for this race which he could win first time out.  He ran well first tme out last season and with his prominent style of racing he looks a good back-to-lay of you can get on at a decent price.  Look to back around 4.4+ to lay back at half those odds in-running.

Friday 10 October 2014

10/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Double Ross and Clearing

3.55 Newton Abbot: Double Ross has traded below half his BSP in his last 9 runs and this looks another good opportunity for him to do so again by leading in this small but quality field.  He won first time out last season and gets 4lb from most of his rivals today.  He currently trades around 7.4 which gives plenty of manoeuvre to lay off in-running at half those odds.

5.45 Wolverhampton: Punk will either lead or race just behind the leaders and if you get 65.0+ then you will be able to trade out in-running fairly quickly if taking a prominent position in this sprint.

6.50 Wolverhampton: Clearing has traded below half his BSP in 9 of his 10 races to date and should do so again today.  He likes to race up with the pace or lead; he currently trades around 11.5 which is a great price for a back-to-lay in this sprint.

Thursday 9 October 2014

09/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Bajan Blu

4.00 Leicester: Kayfton Pete could well be allowed to bowl off along in front which should make for back-to-lay opportunity around 10.0 on Betfair currently. Also running in the race is Going Concern; though he’s too short for a back-to-lay around 3.6 you may be able to get bigger in-running as he usually makes eye-catching headway in his races travelling strongly.  Try for 5.0 in-running if he’s still in touch and going well with enough time get involved in the finish.

4.50 Exeter: Bajan Blu looks a good front-runner for a back-to-lay who should get the lead on his own.  He drops down in distance from 2 mile 7 furlong last time to 2 mile 1 furlong for this event but has traded low over this distance and on quicker ground that he will get today.  Look to back around 8.0 to lay off at 4.0 in-running.

Look to the All-Weather for Back-to-lays

The in-running form has become a little erratic on the flat over turf with end of season form tailing off and big changes in the going so I’m going to try and concentrate more on the all-weather racing when possible.  The form and in-running should be more consistent as the going is always standard and tracks very similar.  Yesterday I purposely concentrated on the all-weather and with two back-to-lays that both paid off.

The quality of the jumps racing will start to pick up over the next few weeks as the flat season closes out that will present better in-running opportunities and the possibility to trade in-running.

Today’s racing is quite poor and I don’t really fancy any back-to-lays today as nothing stands out.

Tuesday 7 October 2014

07/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Captain Starlight and Dangerous Age

6.05 Kempton: Captain Starlight has been trading very low from quite big prices and should be backed to do the same again.   He likes to come with a late charge that should see his price drop for a trade out; he currently trades around 13.0 so you can lay back half the odds in-running.

8.35 Kempton: Dangerous Age looks a great back-to-lay bet in this sprint.  She’s been racing in 5 furlong sprints but steps up to 6 furlongs for the first time which should see her travel well in this race to the latter stages to allow a trade out.  She currently trades around 20.0 so you can lay back in-running at 10.0.

Monday 6 October 2014

06/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Potent Embrace, Stock Hill Fair and Persian Bolt

3.10 Pontefract: Potent Embrace has been a great horse to follow for back-to-lays; trading less than half his BSP in 11 out of 13 runs to date. He drops down to a mile that will not inconvenience and will handle any rain that comes.  He will most probably try to make all today that should make for back-to-lay; he currently trades around 5.7.

3.50 Windsor: Stock Hill Fair is in decent form and has traded low with ease in the ground before so looks a decent chance for a back-to-lay in this 1 mile 3 ½ furlong handicap where his stamina will come in to play.  Look to back around 8.0 to lay off at half in-running.

4.20 Windsor: Persian Bolt has traded below half his BSP in 10 of his 13 runs to date.  He has decent form on soft ground; trading all the way down to 1.68 from a BSP of 4.64 three runs back so should be backed to do the same again.  He current trades around 5.4 for a back-to-lay at half the price.

Sunday 5 October 2014

05/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Vector Force

Today’s the Arc in Paris and I’m hoping for a bit of good luck in-running for Ectot who I backed back in July at three figure prices on Betfair.  It's set up more like a big field handicap with 20 runners and 7/1 the field with the bookies; there’s bound to be some hard-luck stories.

I’m going to enjoy today’s international racing and will be on the look-out for any stand-out prices on the PMU and any fancied French horses I can get at big prices with our bookies.

If you fancy taking advantage of the PMU markets then you will want to open up a Racebets account and then you can bet directly in to the French tote.

Just the one in-running back-to-lay I’m going to be trying today.

3.10 Tipperary: Vector Force has been bumped up the weights with a 6lb penalty for his last win but he did win nicely and with his prominent run style either leading or just behind the pace he should go close again to trade out for a back-to-lay.  Look to back at 7.4 and lay back at 3.7 in-running.

Saturday 4 October 2014

04/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Justice Day and Dance King

Some tough results yesterday in-running despite starting with a winner; things soon turned.  Plucky Dip looked likely to save the day making his usual late headway to get his run blocked late in the straight.  Hopefully things will go a little better with today’s selections.

2.05 Ascot: Justice Day has been contesting some hot sprints lately and trading Very low; either leading or leading late on. Today’s listed event looks to be his level and should contest this for a back-to-lay around 10.0.

4.25 Ascot: Felwah will try and blast off in front and try to make all in this 7 furlong contest.  She is stepping up from handicap company to listed class but has already racked up 4 wins in her last 5 races.  She currently trades around 6.6 which is a big enough price for a back-to-lay on this front-runner.

4.40 Newmarket: Remember should go close in this 6 furlong sprint to usually lead late on before her run peters out.  Look to back around 6.8 and lay back at half those odds.

5.00 Ascot: Peterkin and Extrasolar could both be worth playing in this sprint.  They both like to race up with the pace and usually end up leading at some point in their races before fading so it could pay to play both at 40% of the back price as back-to-lays; both will be around the 36.0 mark in this big field.

5.30 Redcar: Dance King is on a run of 7 consecutive trades below half his BSP and should carry that on today if he comes with his usual late charge. Look to back around 10.0 to lay back at half those odds in-running.

Friday 3 October 2014

03/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Red Pike, Book of Excuses, Above the Rest and Plucky Dip

3.05 Ascot: Red Pike is a front runner who has been running over 6 and 7 furlongs who is on a run of 7 consecutive in-running trades below half his BSP.  All his wins have come at 6 furlongs leading in his races which he tackles again today; he currently trades around 18.0 on Betfair and if making or contesting the lead he will trade low enough for a back-to-lay.

3.30 Hexham: Book of Excuses has traded below half his BSP in his five races under rules prior to his point-to-point career.  He has led in his recent races and gets Jason Maguire this time who rides well from the front; he is currently around the 6.6 mark which is a decent price to trade on this front runner as a back-to-lay bet.

4.15 Ascot: Above the Rest has traded below half his BSP in all 6 runs to date and today looks another good chance for this front runner in this competitive race. He currently trades around 7.4 which is great price for a back-to-lay.

8.20 Wolverhampton: Pluck Dip is on a hat-trick bid of 3 consecutive wins at Wolverhampton and should go close again despite a 6lb penalty for the latest win.  He currently trades around 6.8 which is great price for a back-to-lay and if he comes with his late usual charge he should trade below half those odds.

Thursday 2 October 2014

02/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Marufo, Coolharbour Breeze and Father Stone

2.30 Southwell: Marufo tackles a tricky four runner 3 mile chase; he has dropped right down the weights recently and gets a 7lb claimer today to help his cause further.  Though at the age of 12 he still has run well in his races trading down to less than 20% of his BSP in his last two runs and drops down to a class 5 this time which should see him get involved at the finish. He currently trades around 4.2 which is plenty short enough for a back-to-lay but this is only a four runner race.

4.55 Clonmel: Coolharbour Breeze will either lead or race up behind the pace which should make for a nice back-to-lay if he hangs around long enough; he is currently trades around 32.0 for a back-to-lay.

6.15 Kempton: Father Stone has traded below half his BSP in all but one of nine runs to date with today’s race looking another good opportunity.  He seems to really like Kempton’s all-weather track and should come with a late run again for back-to-lay; he currently trades at 14.0 on Betfair.

Wednesday 1 October 2014

01/10/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Alex Vino and Afatcat

3.55 Salisbury: Alex Vino returns back to 10 furlongs; a distance he has two wins over after trying a little further last time out.  Ryan more is in the saddle again today and he has ridden him positively in leading or racing right behind the pace in his last two runs.  He currently trades around 6.0 which is a great price for a back-to-lay.

4.25 Sligo: Afatcat is on a run of 9 consecutive races having traded below half his BSP in-running and should be backed to do the same today in similar race conditions.  Look to back at 20.0+ and lay off at half the back odds in-running.

Tuesday 30 September 2014

30/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Red All Star and Alderbrook Lad

3.20 Fairyhouse: Red All Star likes to race right up with pace and could even get to the lead in this race that will see his price shorten enough for a back-to-lay.  It’s hard to envisage what price this horse will go off at as it 12:10 there hasn’t been any money traded on this horse and only £715 traded on the whole event but look to get on at 40.0+ to trade out at half those odds in-running.

4.00 Sedgefield: On a really poor day of racing Alderbrook Lad looks the best back-to-lay of the day.  He’s a front runner who should get his own way upfront in this small field; at around 6.0 he is a great price for a back-to-lay.

4.50 Chepstow: Toe To Toe has a great in-running record over hurdles; having traded below half his BSP in 6 out of 7 hurdle races. He will most likely race back in the field and make some late headway that could see is price contract enough for a back-to-lay double up.  He currently trades around 17.0 which is a great price for a back-to-lay.

Monday 29 September 2014

29/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Owen Na View and Combustible Lady

3.30 Newton Abbot: Owen Na View has looked a likely winner in many of his races to date having traded at 10% of his BSP 5 times from 10 races without registering a win.  At around 7.8 he is a great price for a back-to-lay or you could even try a much shorter back-to-lay at 20% of the back price as he has traded to that level 7 times in 10 races.

16.05 Roscommon: The Black Russian and Enjoy Responsibly look to be the pace in this race and they both could set quite a pace early on and open up a lead on the field.  On a day where there aren’t many opportunities  you could try back to lays on both of these front runners and look to lay off at 40% of the back price sol we would just need one to be matched to make a profit.

4.30 Newton Abbot: Combustible Lady is a strong travelling horse that makes headway late in her races that has seen her trade below 50% of BSP in her last 6 races.  She should go close again; she is trading around 7.8 which a great price for a back-to-lay.

Sunday 28 September 2014

28/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Body Beautiful and Hiking

3.20 Epsom: Hiking could get an easy time upfront in this 1 mile handicap as he may end up making it like he did last time when just getting caught late on. Look to back around 6.0 to lay back at half those odds in-running.

4.40 Curragh: Body Beautiful is a fairly unexposed front runner who gets a 7lb claimer on-board today.  She won last time out off 78 and now goes off at 83 with today’s claimer more than eliminating the rise in the weights.  Prior to that win she went close in a tough group 3 contest leading by over 4 lengths at the half-way stage having traded all the way down to 8.0 in-running from a BSP of 82.11.  This contest is much more her level and could go close to make for a back-to-lay around 14.0 to lay back at half those odds.

Friday 26 September 2014

26/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Galizzi and Arriana

Today sees some really competitive racing with lots of top rated in-running horses highlighted in our ‘In-running Ratings’ page at Newmarket but it could pay to avoid these tough races and concentrate on some of the small meetings today for in-running trades.

4.45 Haydock: Galizzi steps up to 1 mile 6 furlongs after some decent efforts at 1 mile 4.  He travels well in his races that we should be able to trade out at half the back odds even if the extra distance does find him out at the end.  Look to back at 10.0 and lay off at 5.0 in-running.

6.10 Dundalk: Arriana drops down in class after a couple of efforts in listed company.  Last time out she found trouble in-running here at Dundalk having looked a likely winner when trading down to 1.4 in-running so will be looking to take this nursery which looks a lot easier.  She’s quite short in the betting but looks to have a lot in her favour to go very close and possibly win; look to back at 5.0 and lay off at 2.5 in-running.

Thursday 25 September 2014

25/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Lady Moscou, Omaha Gold and Remember

14.55 Pontefract: Lady Moscou has been incredibly consistent in her races in only finishing out of the first 2 places once in 6 runs and trading below half her BSP in all runs to date.  She currently trades around 6.2 to back so you can lay off at half those odds in-running.

17.15 Pontefract: Omaha Gold should be fitter for his last run when well beaten after being off for 10 months.  Despite his long absence he ran well in the lead to trade below half his BSP as he has in all but one of his races.  He looks likely to go for the lead again today which will see him trade low in running; back at 8.6 to lay in-running at half those odds.

17.55 Newmarket: Remember seems to really excel at Newmarket in terms of her in-running trading prices and also registering 2 of her 3 wins here at this distance of 6 furlongs.  She currently trades around 6.6 so look to back around this price and lay back at half those odds in-running for a back-to-lay.

Wednesday 24 September 2014

24/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Robins Command, Welsh Sunrise and Rydan

16.10 Perth: Robins Command may be on the short side for a back-to-lay at 4.0 but as a front runner there’s a good chance he will trade to half those odds given his record at Perth with two wins here over course and distance.  Look to back at 4.0+ and lay off at half in running

16.55 Goodwood: Welsh Sunrise is worth a back-to-lay stepping back up in distance to 7 furlongs after some creditable efforts in 6 furlong sprints.  He travels well in his races and at around 17.0+ will be a bet to lay off at half in running.

8.50 Kempton: Rydan has been in great form and was stepped up to class two handicap company last time out but got no luck in running and could not get competitive until it was too late.  He drops back to class 3 company and back up in distance to 1 mile 3 furlongs that should suit along with this smaller field he should avoid trouble in running to travel well enough to trade out at half the back odds; currently around 9.6.

Tuesday 23 September 2014

23/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Jimmy's Girl, Real Tigress and Dr Irv

2.00 Nottingham: Jimmy’s Girl could well lead a long way in this sprint helped along with a valuable 5lb the claimer Cam Hardie will take off.  You can try and get matched at 14.0 to lay off in-running at 7.0.

4.45 Beverly: Real Tigress seems to perform well at Beverly with her only wins coming here and the other two times she traded below 20% of her BSP.  Today’s quick ground will suit; in fact the only two times she hasn’t traded below half her BSP is on rain softened ground.  She is currently trading around 9.4 which would be a great price to lay off in running at half those odds for a back-to-lay.

4.50 Newcastle: Dr Irv should go close again in this stayers event.  Megan Carberry is on board claiming a valuable 5lb having ridden him in his last two races to see him trade down to less than 10% of his BSP.  Look to back at 7.0 and lay off at 3.5 in-running.

Monday 22 September 2014

22/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Smart Daisy K

4.00 Leicester: Smart Daisy K won last time out in a class 4 handicap and should go close again in this class 3 event even off a career high mark.  She currently trades around 6.0 to back so you can lay off at 3.0 in-running.

4.20 Hamilton: Park Place could be worth taking on in the 1 mile 1 furlong event.  He’s only had 6 runs to date but in that time he’s started out in a maiden against Ruler Of The World, ran over distances of 10, 12 and 8 furlongs before contesting a 2 mile 1 furlong hurdle at Aintree and is on his third trainer back on the flat.  You could try an in-running lay at 1.4 as he has a history of getting beat short prices.

Sunday 21 September 2014

21/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Deciding Moment, Exitas, Massannie and Arizona John

3.40 Uttoxeter: Deciding Moment travels well in his races; usually waited with in rear and making late headway to flatter in his races.  He’s in great form and should go close so look to back at 6.0 and lay at half the back odds.

4.10: Uttoxeter: Exitas is a front runner that could be worth siding with in this open handicap.  He could well open up a telling lead in this race to allow a trade out at half of the back odds; he’s currently trading around 7.0.

4.30 Plumpton: Massannie looks a good back-to-lay bet as he steps up in distance in this hurdle race. Look to back at 6.0+ and lay back at half the price.

4.50 Hamilton: Arizona John has been an in-running money machine; trading below half his BSP in 19 of his last 20 runs.  He steps up an extra furlong in distance which should be no problem and will relish the good to firm going to make a good back-to-lay bet around 6.4.

Saturday 20 September 2014

20/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Justice Day, Arab Dawn and Kikonga

2.55 Newbury: Arab Dawn has traded below half his BSP in all his 8 runs to date including 3 wins. More importantly he seems to handle cut in the ground with a win on good to soft and has run on soft and heavy and traded low in those races as well.  He should start around 10.0 so look to lay back at 5.0.

3.30 Newbury: Justice Day faces a tough field in this sprint but he does handle soft ground and could well travel well for a long way around 10.0 for a back-to-lay back at half those odds.

5.00 Ayr: Lesha is in great form and apart from missing the break two runs back and always behind; he had traded below half his BSP in the 10 runs previous. He should start around 12.0 so look to try a back-to-lay at half those odds.

5.25 Newmarket: Kikonga looks to have many things in her favour today despite carrying top-weight in this handicap.  Her last win last year was on good to firm which she will get today and will benefit from a 5lb claim from today’s jockey Louis Steward which puts him on his last winning mark.  Look to back-to-lay around 10.0.

Friday 19 September 2014

19/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Al Fareej, Nafaath and Ty Gwr

2.15 Newton Abbot: Bonne Fee is in great form and while it would be no surprise to see her win again for the third time in a row it could be worth chancing an in-running lay on her. She is currently trading below evens so try an in-running lay at 1.25 as she is meeting some decent horses this time around and may not find it as easy as her last two facile romps.

3.45 Ayr: Al Fareej has been going very close in all his races apart from a tough group 2 at Ascot but todays listed event will be more within his reach and should go close again today.  Look to back at 8.0 and lay off at 4.0 for a double up.

4.10 Listowel: Vector Force is in great form following on from a win last time out at Naas and should go close again today.  While he doesn’t have a great draw he should have enough speed to get a prominent position out of the stalls. Look to back at 8.0 and lay off at half those odds for a double up.

4.20 Ayr: Nafaath looks a great front-runner to try a back-to-lay with. This stayer has traded below 10% of his BSP in last three runs on the flat over distances of 2 miles plus.  He should start around 10.0 so you lay back at half those odds or even try shorter for a greater return.

5.10 Newbury: Ty Gwr made a belated appearance last time out and ran well for a long time over 9 furlongs.  He steps up to 10 furlongs today which should suit better and looks a decent back-to-lay around 10.0 that you can lay off at half that price.

Thursday 18 September 2014

18/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Fire Fighting

2.35 Listowel: No Wunder has traded below 20% of his BSP in 5 of his 8 runs to date without registering a win.  This looks to be an easier opportunity for him here but it’s possible he could find it tougher dropping down to a mile; his better and recent runs have come over further. He’s currently trading around 2.5 so it could be worth trying an in-running lay around the 1.3 mark with his history of being beaten at short prices.

4.40 Ayr: Fire Fighting has traded at least half of his BSP in his last 8 runs; winning 3 of those and should be backed to do the same again.  He has a 6lb penalty for his recent win but that shouldn’t stop him going close again today, he usually travels just behind the pace and quite often leads late on which should allow us to trade out of our back-to-lay at around 8.0 mark to lay at 4.0.

Tuesday 16 September 2014

16/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Lay Bally Longford and Tregaro

4.05 Sedgefield: Tregaro has traded below half his BSP in his last eight runs but will be way too short for a back-to-lay in this four runner race but it could be worth trying an in-running lay at 1.4 as he does travel well in his races but with only four wins from 32 races; he doesn't win very often.

4.15 Thirsk: Emef Diamond looks likely to have an easy time of it on the lead in this race and seems to like it here where he has registered his only win to date.  At around 12.0 he appeals as a back-to-lay bet.

4.40 Listowel: Bally Longford has been beaten at very short prices and quite often and is certainly worth taking on in what is effectively a match between himself and exciting novice Silver Tassie.  He is too short for a back-to-lay but you can try an in-running lay at 1.4 as he front runs and can open up big leads in his races.

15/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Key To Your Heart

2.30 Wolverhampton: Key To Your Heart has a great in-running record and will likely lead in this sprint.  He currently trades around the 11/4 mark which is too low for a back-to-lay but it could be worth chancing an in-running lay at 1.4.

2.40 Musselburgh: Somedaysrdiamonds could well lead in this class 5 sprint back on turf.  She was caught late on in a class 3 sprint, only beaten 2 lengths after leading and trading down to 2.60 from a BSP of 22.92 so is worth chancing at around 12.0 for a back-to-lay at half those odds.

14/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Lay Steeler In-running

A tough day's competitive racing with not many standout in-running chances:

3.10 Curragh: Abstraction likes to race prominently and could even lead in this sprint. He will be around 25.0 to win this so is a good price for a back-to-lay.

3.50 Bath: Steeler is a short priced favourite in this mile contest and is favoured by the race conditions but it could be worth chancing a short priced in-running lay at 1.25 as he could well lead and be there to be shot at.

Saturday 13 September 2014

13/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Lay Wintour Leap and Smart Daisy K

2.15 Bath: Powerful Wind is a front runner that has run well at Bath before.  He’s come down the weight’s a little and has Shane Gray on board taking a further 3lb off that puts him on a mark he has won on before. The firm ground today will help him further and could see him trade low enough for a back-to-lay around the 50.0 mark.

3.15 Doncaster: The strong travelling Es Que Love and front running Ansgar are both of interest in this contest at Doncaster.  Ansgar should lead in this and take them along for long enough to see him trade low enough for a double up while Es Que Love should find this much easier than the Haydock Sprint Cup where he made late headway to finish sixth.  Look to back-to-lay at 40% of BSP to ensure a profit if only one gets matched and even better if both do.

3.25 Bath: Smart Daisy K ran a great race last time out finishing third in a 16 handicap and should go close again today.  She is on a mark she hasn’t won on so it could be worth trying a short priced in-running lay on her as she is too short in the betting for a back-to-lay and could well travel well in to the latter stages to lead late on.

4.10 Chester: Potent Embrace steps back up to 10 furlongs and handicap company that may suit better for this front runner to trade low in-running.  He should start around 14.0 so look to back-to-lay at half those odds for a double up.

7.40 Wolverhampton: Wintour Leap has been running great; finishing second the last three runs and looks to be getting closer each time but the handicapper is bumping him up a couple of pounds every time.  He’s traded at a fifth of his BSP in those last three runs and today he will be around 5.0 so it could be worth trying an in-running lay at 1.5 if he goes close again we could get matched at a short price.

12/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Arty Campbell

3.05 Chester: Kimbrella likes to race up with the pace which has seen him trade quite low in-running.  All his wins have come over 6 furlongs so while today's 7 furlongs might not be his best distance he could well travel well in the latter stages to try and get matched for a straight lay at even money in-running.

4.15 Chester: Arty Campbell ran a stinker last time but that was on soft ground which as seen him run poorly in the past but today's better ground will suit him a lot better.  In all his runs on better ground he has traded to at least half his BSP every time so is a great back-to-lay shot today at around 12.0 to lay back at half those odds.

11/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Persian Bolt and Shore Step

2.20 Chepstow: Persian Bolt usually likes to lead and if doing so again today could make a good back-to-lay if you can get on at 6.0 to lay back at 3.0 in-running.

5.10 Chepstow: Now What enjoyed a rare win over this course and distance last time out and should go well again with the help of 7lb claimer Jack Budge to negate the rise in the weights for his last win.  Look to back at 6.0+ and lay of at half those odds.

5.35 Doncaster: Shore Step is a prominent runner who has traded below half his BSP in all his 13 runs to date and should be backed to do the same again today. Look to back at 14.0 to lay back at 7.0.

10/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Caolaneoin at Galway

3.35 Doncaster: Cliff ran well at Doncaster last time out and returns here and at around 14.0 is a good price for a back-to-lay.

4.45 Doncaster: Nakuti is worth a back-to-lay in this contest in which he should start around 14.0 to lay back at half those odds.

5.30 Galway: Caolaneoin looks the day’s best back-to-lay.  He’s been front running in his races and opens up big leads on the field that has seen him trade low in-running so should be backed around 12.0 to lay back at 6.0.

Tuesday 9 September 2014

09/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Lay West Montan and Draco In-running

4.10 Worcester: Taaresh has traded below 50% of his BSP 28 times from his 35 runs. At Worcester he has two wins from two visits at the track so is definitely worth a back-to-lay at around 16.0 for today’s contest.

4.15 Galway: West Montan has been racing prominently in his last few runs that could see him trade low in-running if doing the same today.  The race looks a match between himself and Waver who is having his first run over hurdles – you could try to get matched at 1.4 in-running.

4.45 Galway: Draco registered his first win in 10 runs last time out and will be vying for favouritism this time with Most peculiar who beat him when they last met here at the festival.  It could be worth chancing an in-running lay at 1.5 to see if you can get matched at short odds.

6.20 Galway: Afatcat will be a massive price in this race at around 100.0+ but could well be a good back-to-lay as he likes to lead which could see his price drop to half quite easily.

Monday 8 September 2014

08/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Castorienta

2.30 Brighton: Castorienta has been travelling well in to the latter stages of her races and should do so again today.  Back-to-lay around 8.0 to lay off at half those odds.

3.50 Perth: Robins Command has notched quite a few wins of late and is bound to go close again today but it could be worth taking him on this time with a short priced in-running lay at 1.5 as he’s shot up the weights and favourite for this.

4.50 Perth: Glenn Na Ndochais won last time out and is up 7lb for that victory putting him on a career high of 113, his highest winning mark has been 106.  He’s favourite for this event and too short for a back-to-lay but it could be worth trying a short in-running lay at 1.5.

Sunday 7 September 2014

07/09/2014 In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Dr Irv and Elusive George

4.05 York: Dr Irv ran a great race last time out under Megan Carberry in a stayer’s race at Thirsk trading all the way down to 2.00 from a BSP of 15.66 after hitting the front a furlong out before finishing fourth.  Carberry gets the ride again claiming 5lb so he should go close again for a back-to-lay.  Look to back at 12.0 and lay at half those odds for a double-up.

4.40 York: Elusive George likes to race just behind the pace which has seen him trade at less than half his BSP in 7 out of 8 runs. He won last time out at Doncaster over six furlongs and should go close again, he should start around 20.0 so is a great price for a back-to-lay.
