12/07/2014 13:55 Ascot Morawij

12/07/2014 15:30 York One Chance

12/07/2014 14:20 York Continuum

‘Continuum’ runs over at York in a stayer’s race and should travel well enough in to the latter stages of the race to enable a trade out to double up. He currently trades around 16.0 so a back to lay at 8.0 would be in order.

‘Morawij’ runs in the 5 furlong sprint at Ascot and if he doesn’t make a mess of the start he could well trade very short before his big weight starts to tell – he will probably go off at 40.0+.

‘Oblitereight’ runs in the 15:05 at Ascot and represents a great chance for a back-to-lay – he’s usually held up and comes with a telling run late on – he trades around the 6.6 mark.

‘Safety check’ has been running well of late and has traded at less than half his BSP in all his runs to date including three wins.  This is his first run in a handicap after competitive performances in Group 3 and listed events so can be expected to run well enough despite top weight.  He’ll be trading around the 40.0 mark so it could be worth doing a split back-to-lay at 20.0 and 8.0.

‘Arantes’ finds himself in a competitive handicap in which he will carry 2lb extra as he’s out of the handicap.  He should represent a great back-to-lay as he could go off at a big price, possibly 60.0+ being out of the handicap but that won’t stop him running his race and should make headway late on to trade low.

‘Kimbrealla’ will go off around 8.0 at Chester and a lay back at 4.0 should be possible.

‘Northern Surprise’ runs at Tipperary, he has a great in-running record but all his form is on soft so it’s best to leave this one on today’s good ground.  ‘Little King Robin’ has a great record but he could well be taken on for the lead in this event that also sees Simeon return to hurdles so it’s could pay to leave this one alone as well.

‘One Chance’ is a non-runner.

  1. Safety Check ran a great race, took up the running and was well clear coming in to the final 2 furlongs and traded down to 2.54 from his BSP of 38.0 before fading out of contention which made for a profitable split lay at 50% and 20% of the BSP, checkout the betfair graph above.

Continuum settled towards the rear early on before making his customary late charge and carried it through with a victory allowing for a double up.

Oblitereight traded down to 3.05 after going off at 9.07 on BSP for a nice double-up. Justice Day front ran in the July Cup on the stands side and traded down to 16 in running after starting at 44.0 on BSP.

Kimberella sat just behind the leaders and kicked on entering the straight for victory.

    Arantes did not run.
